© Thinkworks Pvt Ltd – “Former union finance minister, Mr.P Chidambaram, talks about demonetisation, its effects on the Indian economy and whether it was worth it. He explains that income that ought to taxed has escaped taxation. He says that in order to end the shadow economy, all income should be taxed; and, the devised taxation machinery should be effective.

Devinder Sharma, a renowned agricultural economist, argues about how the government’s policies devised to allegedly generate employment are skewed policies. He says the government understands employment generation as pushing people from the rural to the urban areas; as a consequence of which, most people work as daily wage labourers. Furthermore, he proposes that if the government would actually concentrate on improving the agricultural sector and increases the MSP, it would boost the country’s GDP while simultaneously solving the issue of growing farmer crisis and their suicide.
